Different Photo’s
That Could Have Been Used
I have
decided to use a photo of two students reading a textbook as the main image for
my magazine front cover. This is because I believe that it strongly represents
what life will be like for anybody that is thinking about joining the school
sixth form. Although I had already decided that I wanted to use this type of
image, there are various different ways and methods that I could have used to
give the image a different look and feel. Here are some of the images that were
considered and the final image that was eventually selected:
1.
This was the first photo that I took with the camera. Although the photo includes the shot that I was primarily looking for, there is a major fault with the photo because the person on the right is looking at something else that is out of shot of the camera. This seriously de-contributes to the quality of the shot because it makes it look very unprofessional and relaxed, which is not what you would be looking for on the front cover of a sixth form magazine.
2.
This was the photo that was taken into serious consideration as it offers everything that I originally wanted to be on the front cover of my magazine. Both of the people on the front cover are reading a text book whilst smiling at the same time, which gives very positive connotations to the school and the environment that they are in. Although as I spent more time looking at the photo, I came to the conclusion that the person on the rights smile may have been a bit too cheesy and artificial, so I decided to take one more shot that involved the person on the right doing something slightly different.
Final Photo
I decided that this photo was perfect for the front cover of my magazine because it offered everything that I wanted in my original plans. I also decided that it would probably be better if the person on the right looked at the camera and smiled, because this looks as though he is addressing the audience and telling anybody who is looking at the magazine that he is working hard, yet he is enjoying himself at the same time.
